Amazon Refreshes Kindle Lineup With Thinner Designs and New Page Controls
Amazon’s 2026 Kindle family introduces flush displays, thinner bodies, new aluminum options and accessories built for hands-free page turning.
Amazon has refreshed its Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Colorsoft families with thinner designs, flush-front displays and new ways to turn pages. The 2026 lineup is already detailed for Italy, giving European readers confirmed local prices instead of estimates converted from another market.
The entry Kindle keeps a 6-inch format, includes 16GB of storage and is rated for up to six weeks of battery life. Amazon says books open about 30% faster than on the previous model. It starts at €154.99 in ube purple and graphite.
An aluminum Kindle joins the range
For the first time, Amazon is also offering the compact Kindle with an aluminum rear shell. That version includes 32GB of storage and costs €194.99 in graphite or sea-glass green. The company says the enclosure uses 80% recycled aluminum.
The updated Paperwhite is thinner and lighter, remains waterproof and provides an adjustable warm light. Amazon rates it for up to 12 weeks per charge. The 16GB model starts at €209, while the 32GB Signature Edition costs €259.99 and adds an aluminum back, automatic front-light adjustment, pogo-pin charging and a double-tap gesture for changing pages.
Colorsoft and the new accessories
Kindle Colorsoft continues to use a seven-inch color display. The 16GB model starts at €299.99. The €329.99 Signature Edition moves to 32GB, adds an aluminum enclosure, automatic light adjustment, pogo-pin charging and the same double-tap page control.
Amazon is also introducing Kindle Click, a wireless page-turning remote, plus a magnetic cover with integrated page buttons. These accessories acknowledge how many readers place an e-reader on a stand or pillow instead of holding it continuously.
Battery estimates are manufacturer figures and vary with wireless use and brightness. Prices and colors are those announced for Italy on October 1, 2026; availability can differ in other countries, so readers should check their regional Amazon store before ordering.
