Meta Names Dhruv Vohra Managing Director for Southeast Asia Business

Meta has appointed Dhruv Vohra as Managing Director of its Global Business Group for Southeast Asia, the company announced. Vohra will lead Meta’s commercial strategy across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, and will report to Benjamin Joe, Vice President for Asia Pacific.

In the role, he takes over the teams that partner with advertisers and agencies in the region, with a mandate to help businesses of every size adopt AI and grow through Meta’s family of apps. Meta said he will also work to deepen the company’s partnerships across Southeast Asia.

“Southeast Asia is one of Meta’s fastest-growing business regions, and the work ahead is helping businesses leverage AI and messaging at the pace their customers already expect,” Joe said. “Dhruv has spent seven years close to those businesses, and he has built the teams that support millions of them. He is the right person for this next phase.”

Seven years at Meta, and a return to where he started

Vohra joined Meta in 2019 as Director for e-commerce and digital natives, working with platforms that changed how the region shops. He later led small and medium business growth in Southeast Asia before taking on the SMB Group across all of Asia Pacific. According to Meta, he now returns to the region where he began.

He is also the author of a LinkedIn newsletter, Small to Scale: Inside APAC’s Innovative SMBs, and Meta describes him as a key contributor to its SYNC Southeast Asia series on the digital consumer landscape and e-commerce trends in the region.

The appointment covers Meta’s business operations in six Southeast Asian markets. Meta did not disclose an effective date for the transition or further details about the role.
