Samsung Gathers 100+ Partners in Mountain View for 6G and AI-Native Summit

Samsung Electronics brought more than 100 telecommunications experts to its Samsung Research America campus in Mountain View, California on Oct. 15 for the Silicon Valley Future Wireless Summit 2026, following a Partner Day at the same venue the day before. The company said the events gathered operators, manufacturers, government agencies and academia to discuss software-driven networks for the AI and 6G eras.

According to Samsung, the agenda centered on how AI is reshaping the architectural foundation that has defined telecom networks for more than a century, and on ecosystem-wide collaboration. Partner Day sessions covered lessons from commercializing virtualized networks and ways to turn new services beyond connectivity into business opportunities.

“Networks in the AI era are evolving into intelligent infrastructure that can understand the diverse requirements of a growing range of new services, flexibly adapt through virtualization, and deliver optimal solutions for each need,” said Angelo Jeongho Park, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Strategic Sales, Networks Business at Samsung Electronics. “Together with our industry-leading partners, Samsung has successfully commercialized virtualized networks at scale.”

Three panels, from AI-native 6G to space

The summit opened with keynotes from industry experts and then split into three panel sessions: “AI-Native 6G Networks,” “Taking 6G to Space With NTN,” and “Connecting the Physical and Digital Worlds.”

The AI-native session framed AI as the core technology for network performance and operational efficiency, focusing on technical challenges and global collaboration. The NTN session reviewed the status and outlook of low Earth orbit satellite constellations, space-based communication barriers, and satellite standards and roadmaps under discussion in the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). The closing session looked at sensing physical spaces and linking them to digital services, including Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC) and physical AI.

What Samsung demonstrated

Samsung said its technology demonstration showed 6G core technologies developed and validated with partner companies, including AI RAN implementations, eXtreme Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (X-MIMO) systems, Distributed MIMO (D-MIMO) and ISAC. The company presented field validation results for AI-enabled RAN performance across all layers, transmission performance in the 6G candidate 7 GHz band, user experience at cell boundaries, and sensing performance using base station infrastructure.

“Together, 6G and AI-native technologies represent the next step in telecommunications, bringing people closer together than ever before,” said Jinguk Jeong, Executive Vice President and Head of the Advanced Communications Research Center at Samsung Research. “The Silicon Valley Future Wireless Summit 2026 demonstrates our commitment to closely collaborating with industry partners to advance telecommunications.”

Samsung said it has started collaboration with LG U+ this year and ran field validation with Verizon for ISAC development at a major international soccer fan event in Dallas, Texas. It also listed research partnerships with NTT DOCOMO, KDDI Research, KT, SK Telecom and SoftBank as part of ongoing work to make 6G a reality.
