Samsung Brings Hungarian and Malay to Galaxy AI Translation Tools

Galaxy AI Adds Hungarian and Malay

Samsung is expanding language support for Galaxy AI and Bixby, bringing localized AI experiences to more users globally starting October 14, 2026. The update introduces Hungarian and Malay to core translation, transcription, and summarization utilities across the Galaxy ecosystem.

With this update, features including Call Assist, Note Assist, Interpreter, and Transcript Assist now support Hungarian and Malay. This expansion brings features like Live Translate to a total of 24 supported languages. Additionally, the Now Nudge feature—which suggests relevant next steps based on screen content—adds eight new languages including Dutch, Filipino, Gujarati, Hungarian, Malay, Romanian, Swedish, and Turkish, also reaching a total of 24 languages.

Bixby Expands Natural Device Control

The natural language device agent Bixby is expanding its capabilities by adding support for Polish, Thai, and Vietnamese. This brings Bixby’s total language count to 12. The additions allow users to control their devices through conversational commands without navigating manual settings menus.

Availability and Rollout Schedule

Bixby’s new languages begin rolling out on October 14, while the new Galaxy AI languages will follow in the coming weeks. Some of the newly added Galaxy AI languages will be available as downloadable language packs directly through the device Settings application. Detailed schedules and feature availability may vary depending on the specific device model and country.

Bixby service requires a Samsung Account login and an active data connection. Functionality may also be restricted during certain device states, such as media recording, active calls, Maximum Power Saving mode, Emergency mode, and Samsung Kids. Furthermore, performance can vary depending on pronunciation, voice volume, environmental noise, and regional dialects.
