Samsung Galaxy AI Adds Hungarian and Malay, Bixby Gains Three Languages

Samsung expands Galaxy AI to 24 languages with Hungarian and Malay, adds eight to Now Nudge, and brings Bixby to 12 languages with Polish, Thai and Vietnamese.

Samsung Galaxy AI Adds Hungarian and Malay, Bixby Gains Three Languages

Samsung is widening the language net for its on-device AI tools. Call Assist, Note Assist, Interpreter and Transcript Assist now support Hungarian and Malay, which brings features such as Live Translate to 24 languages, the company announced. Separately, Bixby picks up Polish, Thai and Vietnamese, taking the voice assistant to 12 languages.

If you own a Galaxy phone and speak one of the new languages, the practical difference is that you can use translation, transcription and summarization without switching to English first. The additions land on the Galaxy AI features Samsung has been building into recent One UI releases, including the Galaxy S25 and S26 lines.

Now Nudge reaches 24 languages

Now Nudge, the Galaxy AI feature that suggests a next step based on what is on your screen, adds eight languages at once: Dutch, Filipino, Gujarati, Hungarian, Malay, Romanian, Swedish and Turkish. That also brings it to 24 languages in total.

According to Samsung, the full Galaxy AI list now covers Arabic, Chinese (China mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan), Dutch, English (Australia, India, UK and U.S.), Filipino, French (Canada and France), German, Gujarati, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Europe), Romanian, Russian, Spanish (Mexico, Spain and U.S.), Swedish, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese.

Bixby’s new languages start first

Bixby, which Samsung describes as a device agent for controlling your phone through natural conversation, now supports Chinese (China mainland), English (India, UK and U.S.), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Latin America and Spain), Thai and Vietnamese.

The Bixby languages begin rolling out on October 14, with the new Galaxy AI languages following in the coming weeks, Samsung said. The company notes that detailed schedules and features may vary by device or country, and that some of the new Galaxy AI languages can be downloaded as language packs from the Settings app.

Bixby requires a Samsung Account login and a data connection, and Samsung cautions that not all accents, dialects and expressions are recognized, with performance varying by pronunciation, voice level and surroundings. Use may also be limited during media recording, calls, and in Maximum Power Saving mode, Emergency mode and Samsung Kids.
