Microsoft Offers Voluntary Exit to Employees in Four Countries at Level 70 and Below

Microsoft is offering a time-limited Voluntary Exit Offer to eligible employees in Canada, India, the UK and the US at level 70 and below, with details sent by email.

Microsoft Offers Voluntary Exit to Employees in Four Countries at Level 70 and Below

Microsoft introduced a Voluntary Exit Offer on October 26 for eligible employees in Canada, India, the United Kingdom and the United States, limited to those at level 70 and below. Amy Coleman, Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer, announced the program in a message shared with employees and later published on the company blog.

The offer is time-limited and voluntary. It gives eligible employees who may already be considering a future outside Microsoft a way to make that transition now, with financial support and career planning resources. According to Coleman, it also gives participating organizations another way to adapt their workforce to changing needs.

Not every team is taking part. “Some organizations are providing the Voluntary Exit Offer, and some are not,” Coleman wrote, adding that participation varies based on each business’s priorities, customer commitments and workforce needs. If your team is not among the participating organizations, you are not covered by this round.

Eligible employees get details by email

Those who qualify will receive an email with a link to their offer details within a few hours of the announcement, according to the company. The message does not specify the size of the financial package or how long the window stays open.

Microsoft describes the program as new and says it builds on lessons from the Voluntary Retirement Program it ran earlier this year. Coleman said the company will learn from this offer while continuing to help employees build new skills and, where it makes sense, find new opportunities inside Microsoft. “There is no one-size-fits-all approach for every team or every employee,” she wrote.

The announcement is a company statement; no independent confirmation of the offer’s terms or uptake was available.

If you work at Microsoft in one of the four countries at level 70 or below, check your inbox for the offer email and confirm with your organization whether it is participating before acting on it.
